Dr Atif Ghaffar is the Medical Director for Care 4 Quality. Ltd. He worked as a GP Principal for 16 years, during which he was a GP Trainer and QOF Assessor. Since 2017, he continues to work as a freelance GP for the NHS and Privately.
Dr Ghaffar is an experienced CQC Lead and can provide invaluable support and guidance to our clients who are looking to start their own clinical service, especially for Private GPs.
As well as this, he also works collaboratively with the rest of our Senior Management team to refine our processes, expand our offering and ensure that our clients receive the best service possible.
Supporting Clinicians
Dr Ghaffar’s primary role is offering peer support to his fellow clinicians.
“I feel that it’s important to be able to share my experience and valuable networks to assist my fellow clinicians and help them with their day-to-day governance aspects.
“This is especially important for private GPs who often don’t have a practice manager or governance lead and the safety net of the usual NHS structure.”

CQC Interview and Inspection Preparation
Dr Ghaffar has advised clients with virtual interviews as part of their registration process with the CQC.
He guides them through the process of what to expect from the real interviews, from both a clinical and a governance perspective.
“I have been through the process of registering with the CQC and going through all of the interviews can be a really daunting process.
“However, using my knowledge and experience, I’m confident to advise clients on what to expect and how they can best engage with the interview process.”
Dr Ghaffar has also been involved in mock inspections for GP surgeries.
During this process, he interviews the GPs and Trainees for training practices and can offer expert advice regarding processes, QOF, training and many other aspects of running a practice.
